Are we not a Nation of free choices? The state of Massachusetts passes same sex marriages, a free choice. The United States Government allows Abortion, a free choice. The United States Government allows people to abstain form saying Under God in the Pledge of Allegiance. But now the US Government is trying to impose a Moral Value upon our foreign markets, and our allies by banning what they wish to eat. If the United States wishes to be a Nation with little Moral influence, we need to stop imposing our moral viewpoint on foreign trade partners. If we intend legistrate morality to our trading allies, then we need to legislate morality ideals here in the good ole USA! We need to pass the marriage protection act now, and we need to allow prayer in school.

Jon Kenline
Galeton, Colorado

all things western available at
bettertack.com

I was looking for a greater response to my BSE poll, but the poll did not perform as well as anticipated. The article was sensationalistic and failed to report on the substantial body of research which supports the safety of U.S. Beef.

The global community has been dealing with BSE since the 1980s and in the past 15 years there have been many studies of potential health risks associated with BSE. These have included a number of experimental studies where cattle were heavily infected with BSE. Even in those high infection studies, the BSE agent was not found in the muscle meat. In naturally infected cattle the exposure is even lower than in the experiments.

In April 2002, the Scientific Steering Committee of the European Commission Health & Consumer Protection Directorate-General reviewed all the research on prion infectivity in muscle and issued the following statement:
"Given the limited conditions of the research reported on and the consistent negative results of infectivity experiments with regard to the presence of TSE infectivity in muscles of cattle and sheep, there is currently no reason to revise the SSC opinions with regard to the safety of bovine and sheep muscles."

Finally, leading neurologists have said it isn't likely that CJD would be misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's. Neurologist Dr. Richard Johnson of Johns Hopkins University, who headed a National Academy of Sciences study of mad cow disease, did a review of records at Johns Hopkins and found there had never been a case of CJD misdiagnosed. "Certainly at the present day... when a patient has that rapid a course, has other movement disorders that are routinely seen in Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, you're not going to call that Alzheimer's Disease," said Dr. Johnson. "It's not going to be missed."

The public health doomsday predictions in Europe, where the magnitude of the BSE situation (an estimated 1 million infected animals in England alone) was colossal, have not come true. And we don't have millions of infected animals, we have one animal.

The farming and ranching families in our state have confidence in the systems that have been put in place to protect animal health and public health. YOUR STATE's beef producers provide safe and wholesome beef to your families... and to their own families.

They deserved better as did your readers.

Well it’s been a while now since I made my last post. I have read all the resposese and only found one that I need to respond to. Dave Toney states

“there was no established constitutional form of governments in the FEDERAL TERRITORIES.”

I believe that Virgil Earp was a City employee, which would mean there was a city council, a form of constitutional government.

That makes the comparison between the Libertarian world and Tombstone correct, don’t it?

Some time s I wonder if you libertarians are looking out for the good of the Country, or more concerned about weather you can smoke pot or not.

Dave Toney asks, in the comments of my last post…
“Why would you care if a person uses drugs if they will be prosecuted for any trespass against your property, life, or liberty?”

This is why I care.

Pot is suposta be just like beer, right?
Then Cocaine would be like Wild Turkey, and then LSD would be a really good mixed drink as well as Meth. If we legalize one, the we would have to legalize all, to be fair.

When would it stop?

I think it is easy for people like you to look at it differently. Caring parents are scared to death about what lies in wait for their children. If I can stop the devastation of drugs on my family before it starts, you can bet I will. Booze is bad enough, why would I want to I have to deal with drugs too?

I have seen first hand what dope has done to my family, Laying awake at nights listing to my mother cry, seeing my father stare at the ceiling for hours trying to figure out a way to get his little boy back. This is why the war on drugs is so important. Drugs create cracks in the foundations of family, and families are the foundation of the country. Alcohol is right there with drugs in my opinion. I can’t do anything about that, but I can stop it from becoming worse by not legalizing drugs.

Feel free to leave comment, for this will be my last post for a long time, but I have said my piece. I love my brother, and I really feel sorry for him, I see him discarding his most precious gift of life hiding behind the computer, fighting a cause in which he knows he will lose. Too afraid to even go see the Braves play ball.

PS: David Goodyear, out here in the west, brothers can talk down to each other, for they are bound by blood. An outsider who gets between to brothers is unacceptable by my code.

Why the libertarian movement is wrong!

I find it funny that there is so much turmoil between the Libatarian movement and the conservative movement. Really, the two are the same separated only by a few conceptions. Libertarians agree that the sole purpose of Federal government is for national defense and that's it. They want freedom of everything. Freedom from Taxes, freedom of choice, freedom of religion.

Conservatives believe in these same virtues, as personal freedom and smaller government, but our vision also includes economics, trade, and LAW.

I think the flash point between the two groups has to be Law.

This is how I see the libertarian vision for America, Lets go back 150 years to the territories of the New West. Gambling halls, gun fights, and lynching were common. The only law was a circuit judge who traveled by once a month. Drunkedness and opium tents are commonplace. Gangs would be the real law, and the Marshal would be way out numbered or controlled by other interests.
The libertarians like it here, they move freely and don't have any regard for others.

Tombstone AZ, is a great example

Tombstone Newspaper Articles:
"Last Tuesday night a shooting affair took place at Safford in which Louis Hancock was shot by John Ringo. It appears Ringo wanted Hancock to take adrink of whiskey, and he refused saying he would prefer beer. Ringo struck him over the head with his pistol and then fired, the ball takinf effect in the lower end of the left ear, and passing through the fleshy part of the neck, half inch more in the neck, would have killed him. " Arizona Daily Star, December 14, 1879.
, Virgil Earp posted a sign witch fired up the libertarian people, the sign stated.......
"Buy the order of the City Council, it is unlawful to carry guns within the city limmits of Tombstone!"
" If'n we are to make a better place, we got to have some law around here!" Virgil Earp Tombstone AZ 1880
Can you imagine the outburst of yells from the libertarians? Your inflicting a definite blow to my individual Rights!!!!! You all are Tyrants!(law officials)

If you didn't see the movie Tombstone, its a good watch. But basically, the territories of the west are what the libertarians hold as their vision. A traveling circuit Judge, Gun fights, and Freedom of expression. I don't think the average Joe of the United States wants that.

Lets continue our History lesson, shall we?

In 1861 alone, Central City recorded 217 fist fights, 97 revolver fights, 11 Bowie knife fights and one dog fight. Amazingly, no one was killed. That was until 1896 when Samuel Covington entered Judge Seright's office to pay a $61 debt. Covington had his revolver aimed at Seright's chest and Judge Seright knocked the gun to the side as it discharged through the floor into Goldman's card room (Golden Rose). Covington again drew his gun on Seright and demanded a receipt. As Marshall Kelleher opened the office door, Covington turned and fired at Kelleher striking him in the chest. Covington ran downstairs only to meet Dick Williams coming up. Williams had borrowed a revolver and ran to the scene to provide help. Williams was struck in the breast at point blank just as he fired a shot which struck the ceiling behind him. Covington then back up Main Street with two revolvers drawn on the crowd following him. Henry Lehman confiscated a Winchester and hopped on Sherman Harvey's wagon in pursuit of Covington. Covington was blazing away on Nevada Street when Lehman aimed and fired as he leapt from the wagon, striking Covington. A mob gathered around shouting "hang him", but he died before a doctor could arrive. (link)

Another fine example of Libertarian law.

This is too much fun,I must continue,
Another example of Libertarian law,

Joseph Alfred (Jack) Slade

Joseph Alfred (Jack Slade) was born in Caryle, Illinois in 1824. He left home in the 1840's and served in the Mexican War. Later he married and found employment with the Central Overland California and Pike's Peak Express Company. In 1858, as line superintendent, Slade's duties caused him to run afoul of a horse thief named Jules Reni, a native of Canada. Reni had been stealing horses from Slade's company, and Slade went to Julesburg to investigate. Reni approached Slade in the street, and fired twice at point-blank range. Slade collapsed, and Reni triggered three more shots into the fallen man. Reni then ordered bystanders to bury Slade, but an angry mob chased the outlaw out of town. After a lengthy convalescence, Slade recovered. The next year Reni was captured at Slade's ranch near Cold Springs. Slade assumed Reni had been planning to bushwhack him, and he ordered his old adversary to be bound to a fence post. Swigging deeply from a whiskey bottle, Slade began to methodically shoot Reni in the arms and legs. Finally, he jammed his revolver into the wounded man's mouth and pulled the trigger.

Need more examples?

Let study the law of The Honerable Judge Roy Bean

One of Bean's most outrageous rulings occurred when an Irishman was accused of killing a Chinese worker. Friends of the accused threatened to destroy the Jersey Lilly if he was found guilty. Court in session, Bean browsed through his law book, turning page after page, searching for another legal precedent. Finally, rapping his pistol on the bar, he proclaimed, "Gentlemen, I find the law very explicit on murdering your fellow man, but there's nothing here about killing a Chinaman. Case dismissed."
(link)
This is the law the libertarians wish to have. One Judge to make decisions. No way to challenge His rulings. The Only Law is the Judges law.

Are you seeing the connection here? Do you see what the libertarian vision is for you? Limited Law, The right to carry arms into public meetin places, and every one for themselves.

I have had conversations with libertarians, And they always seem to claim I don't Know my history, but it is they who have forgotten.
They don't want to raise their children under the oppression of a tyrannical government, but they would raise their children here, in the wild and wooly west.
The libertarian movement holds dear the Constitution , as well as most Americans, But they forget the reason behind laws, and checks and balances. I do yearn for the old west, but I don't think I would want to raise my children here. There are positive examples from this era, but all of them are about establishing Law and order, the building of great city's and townships. You cant achieve this with out Law. This is the down fall of the Libitarian, patriot, and Freedom movements. They only see law as a hindrance on personal freedoms. I am a firm believer that it is my right to bear arms, but I recognize the responsibility of this right. I don't like us being involved with the UN, And I don't like NAFTA. But I still believe that there is a definite need for Government. Does that make me wrong? I don't think so, it makes me an American.

I tried to post a comment on my brothers blog, but it was too long, And I am disappointed that the whole response was not posted.

My Brother thinks I am a fool and a under educated person. Well. I feel that Doug has turned off his brain and slipped off into the world of never never land.

He has several links in his response to me concerning the Grace report. And If all you do is read the first few lines. You would probably agree. BUT, if you read the report itself you would find that Ronald Reagan was truly one of the best presidents of our time.

The report states
"Mr. President, you have been so correct in resisting attempts to balance the budget by increasing taxes. The tax load on the average American family is already at counterproductive levels with the underground economy having now grown to an estimated $500 billion per year, costing about $100 billion in lost Federal tax revenues per year"

I think Doug needs to learn how to read.

He needs to understand that the Grace report was only a forecast of what was to be if there wasn't some changes made. The debt is only from Past leadership. Ronald Reagan fixed it

He also trys to call me a hyprocrite. Doug your a funny little man.

I guess I need an example of what the world would be like if we had no drug laws? Doug, could you describe to me what the world would be like if I walked down to the corner store and bought a shot LSD? or maybe a hit of crack. What would the world be like then? Please tell me so I may better understand.

Amendment 17 seems to be a huge issue for you, I would mutch rather have a say in the appointment of my senators, I voice through the ballot box, I guess you dont, its a pain in your ass, as you would say.

I think you need to remove the Bible from your references. You have a hard time accepting the LORD. Your faith in the founding principals are shaken, You feel there should be no limits on action, and no Right and no Wrong.

I fear you have surrounded your self with other misled persons. People who only see the surface of the issues, not the core. People who jump to conclusions seem to fall faster.

"Never miss a good chance to shut up" Will Rodgers

Doug you need to look deeper into the issues that face our country. You need to question the Authors that you read. You need to pull the blinders off and have a look see at the good ole USA. Remove the hate that is driving you, the hate of your past, the hate of your family, and your the hate of Christ.

Doug, my intentions are only to help you in your decision making process, not to sever our relationship. But you need to listen to common sense, stop flying off the handle

Good Day, the sun has broken the blanket of clouds that have brought us mutch needed moisture here in Northern Colorado.

I feel compelled to write a few thoughts down about the word of the day.

Courage

Courage it a strong word and has a simple but powerful meaning.
Websters defines it as
Fearlessness; Valor;bravery;cou.ag.geous,a

My definition would be
"The strength to face your adversary, and to state what you believe in no matter what the consequences" or " Having a backbone"

everybody has a touch of courage somewhere inside them, But it seem to be put away in a corner somewhere in the sub conscious , but its there. And its is up to each individual to pull it out and use it. And I personally think now is the time to reach in and get it. The world today is in a war, and it is not for Oil, land, Taxes, or politics. It is for your soul. The forces of good and evil, right or wrong, left or right are battling for your soul right now

don't believe me?

Lets look. I remember when I was younger Charlie Daniels has a hit song "The Devil went down to Georgia." The radio stations always beepedout the "come on back you S_O_b if you ever want to try again...." S_O_B still means the same thing but the media has stopped beeping it out.....
Now curse words seem to be a part of everyday radio. It seems that our society has slipped, and we all are the victims. I have noticed that I seem to curse more now than I used to. I need the courage to face my problem and fix it, I need the courage to do something about it.

When I was younger There was one type of sexuality, heterosexual. Now there is a number of sexualitys Homo, Metro,(Howard dean says he is a Metrosexual, What does that mean? And what does it matter? Who cares?)
We need the Courage to bring back the definition of sexuality to the way it was for 1000's of years. Man and Woman, no matter what, or who we offend.

I feel that there are forces in today's society that wish to cloud the definitions that have defined us as a society. Politically correct, is the start of the end of the foundation of this great country of ours. We as children of God, need to reach in and find the spark of courage that the Almighty has place in each one of us, to face the opposing forces that seem to be more and more common place now than 20 years ago. Deep down in your soul, you know the difference between right and wrong. Take courage and face our adversary and lets put back God in our country.

The news is inedited with stories of the Christian right doing so many wrong things, or the removal of church from state, prayer in schools, and the Pledge of allegiance. I feel since we are getting scared from talking openly about Jesus, God and life everlasting , the amount of hideous crimes has risen to epic proportions, Colombine, the Washington shooter,(s), The word Postal has become commonplace, and on and on....WHY? The reason is that we lack the courage to say what's right and what's wrong.

I went to a revival out side of Oklahoma City this fall, The preacher said there is two Kingdoms. The Kingdom of Light or the Kingdom of Darkness. There aint no middle ground. There is no such thing as being in the middle, you are or you aint, right or wrong, left or right. Simple. But the ACLU,the liberal left, and people that know they are wrong but want us to change or accept them, need you to believe there is. But there aint no middle ground.

Where do you stand? Do you have the courage to say? Its up to you.

We as children of God and cleansed by the Love of Jesus, need to start acting and stop the aggression of the prince of darkness!

If you don't Know, ask. Pray this simple prayer...

Jesus,

I need direction in my life, I need help in determining the difference between right and wrong.
Please give me direction in my life, and give me courage to slay my Giants that hold me back from the truth.
Guide, Lead, and direct me, Jesus.

Amen

I am a simple man with a simple vocabulary, but I do know what is Right and what is Wrong.

recommended reading "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson

Wow, Doug, I cant believe you still remember that little note. Yea, we had some good times in ol' Canon City Colorado. I personally don't think you a crazy person, loon, or a fool. I think of you as my Brother. You may be a little left of center, and I may be a little right of center. But you need too extremes to have middle ground.

As for the drug issue, I don't blame you, nor do I think you need to go to jail for being a doper. I think the son-of -a -bitch that convinced you to try it at a young age needs to be the one hanging from an old oak tree. That's why the war on drugs needs to be. The people who pray on children to line their pockets are the enemy, not you. I faced the same issues in High School as you did. A few of my friends smoked dope. I seen two of my best buds do cokecaine in the parking lot of CCHS. I had a choice, a 50-50 chance, I walked away and never said anything about it till now. I think after going through what you did with the intervention helped me with that decision. I was a young Buck, strong, tall, and Cowboy. The things we went through as a family with the intervention, went against all I believed at the time. My Brother a Doper!? No way this cant be true! "I gona open up a Can Whoop Ass and straighten him out!" And I took it out on you, I honestly held that against you for a long time. But time and wisdom have a calming effect on all young men. Now I am more mad at myself for being mad at you. Your influence helped me with some major life decisions because of it. You learn a lot from your elder siblings, and you, Doug, have influence my life more than you will ever know.

As for the Tax thing, I belive in your cause, but not your action, You can still bring light to the issue by the use of your blogg, and still be a major player in the cause to reform the IRS, or the abolish ment of it, and still pay your taxes. This doesn't mean your a hypocrite, but it may relive some of the extra pressures on you. You do more good for the Cause than you know, but being afraid of jail time is one thing you don't need. You have an talent with words, and I believe the pin is mightier than the sword, You said it your self, "The Bloggs are the musket of 21st century!" You can Change the world Doug with your writing and thoughts, But it will be hard for you to do so behind the walls of Canon City.

You are right is believing the United States of America is heading towards a Train Wreck, and I believe you can be a beacon of Truth and a light for others to see, but when,or if you go to prison, the light will have been put out. No family wants a member to go up the river, this is why Mom and Dad try to git you to change your position on your withholding, they see you being torn away from a life that you like, to a life of nothing. It would be like outliving your children, something that all parents don't want to do. Being a dad has opened up my eyes to a whole new world. If Logan gets a scratch, I cry with him. When he hit a ball with a bat, I am happy with him. It is really weird. Parents every where understand these feelings towards their children, but if you don't have children, there is no way you can possibly understand.

I dont think that the US government will be the ones to distroy the internet, I think these dang Pop ups will do it for them.

I read a response to one of my posts made by a citizen of the USA who honestly believes the whole country is corrupt. Conservative or liberal, right or left, the corruption runs so deep that there seems to be no hope.

Well sir, I still believe that there is a great deal of hope for this country of ours. I do agree with Rush on the issues facing the country. The left is making moves to destroy the foundation of this country. By removing the reference to God in the pledge, and this cockamamie idea that is right to tax the rich to feed the underachievers.

I do believe that there is a cost for everything, there aint no free ride. I have no objection with a federal income tax. I do however object to high taxes. Joe Lieberman wishes to remove the tax cuts placed by President Bush and "Shift" the burden to the wealthy. This can not do any thing but place the whole burden squarely upon the average Joe. Weather it came from hard work or luck, I feel the left needs to stop the consistent attack on those who are successful.

Sir, we both agree that, we as Americans need to take a look at the whole tax situation but to completely abolish the federal income tax would be devastating.

I have studied my brothers response to my comments about Rush. My brother Doug Kenline seems to think Rush is a hyprocrite, I would have to agree with him to some extent. We have all faced our demons at one time or the other, and to ridicule and call him inflammatory names is ridiculous. It seems that the more popular the man is the futher the unpopular want to drag him down. It is a lot like Jr high. One of the "in crowd" kid screws up the rest of the school kids will do every thing to keep him down. I listen to Rush and I feel he is a good man. His opinions on the left are on the money. I still respect the man, and I feel a little sorry for him. I don't necessarily agree with all his opinions, But I am not going to bash him.
The drug war is indeed a good thing. The only people who want a stop on the drug war is the users, in my opinion. I have seen the effect drugs have on a family, and it aint perty.

A horse trader is not dishonest, he is just broad minded on the subject.

bettertack.com

This morning I stoped by my brothers blog. Well here's one opinion:

I'm thinkin you best have your mind made up by now.

If your not shure of your possition, they (the lawers) will spit you out like wore out gum! I dont think your quite shure weather your right or wrong. Well big brother, its time to make up your mind. When it comes to court, you have to remember that your not only representing your self, but the whole We The People Movement! Your case will only be a landmark case if you are convenced your are right. I think I would be practicing my opening statements, my argument, and my closeing . Go rent some movies and practice court room presence. Study how a good lawer works a jury. Because it will come to that. and if you aint prepaired, your lost. Put your study notes some where they can be retrived by a person of trust, dont just leave them out to be lost. Start thinking, and beliving your right, Stop spending so mutch time blogging, and start prepairing for the biggest fight of your life. Because your not only defending yourself, but the entire United States of America.

Doug, Doug, Doug. He states
"But maybe it is too late. My Dad, my Mom, and my brothers already believe that George W. They are members of the We the People movment, all for you, Doug, all for you.

"My Family don't support Me" is pure hog wash

Maybe you need to think about how YOU can return the favors they have done for you.

So get off your high horse and be proud of your Kin. We all have chosen our own paths, right or wrong, it is the direction of our choice. Like you, Doug, with your petition aginst the Federal government, Right or wrong, it is the path of your choice. My grey horse is realy looking better after a small fight with barbed wire in Riverton Wyoming. He still is a little swollen in the right front knee, but he seems to be moving about a lot better. It was a strange deal, I dont know what happend, all I know is the end result. Hopefully he will be sound enuff to go to some of the fair rodeos coming up.

I havent had mutch time to resurch the Wild Horse issue, but I'll get to it some time here in the future.

Well I better go, and try to save the Ag Journal. These have been realy tough times for the Ag Journal. Sales are down, Costs are up. I realy beleve in the paper and what the paper is trying to acomplish. The world seems to be turning away from Agriculture. It is sad. Every city in the United States was built because of Farming or Ranching. So in reality the farm is the foundation of every City. Now the city folks want the farm to dissapper. People dont like to get stuck behind a tractor on the road, the smell, or the noise when it is time to wean the calves. Developers are looking to move in and put houses on the best hay fields, and crop land.
But the average person dont see the effects. The stores are all full with food, and the prices are some what reasonable. But people dont realise that food is imported from other countries every day, and the number of imports increase every day. (thanks NAFTA) It is my oppinion that if we lose the farm, and the ability to feed other nations, we are in grave danger. We will put ouselves at the mercy of exporting countrys like Brazil,China, France, Canada and Mexico. This would be the end to our freedom.

But no one is paying attention to this. Everybody is full and content.

I rarely speak my mind on verious subjects, But while researching my wild horse campaingn, I came across a quote by the very well known People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals chief Ingrid Newkirk, This gals a total WACKO! and she is the truest form of the word. She founded PETA in hopes to better the condition of our animal counterparts, but has turned the organazation into anti American, anti captiolist, and anti human think tank of brain washed teens.
Read this (link)
TUCKER CARLSON: Last spring, I took my children to the circus here in Washington. I had my four-year-old son, very nice boy, in my arms walking up to go into the circus. And some monster from PETA leans forward and shoves in his face a photograph of a wounded elephant, and says, "This is what the circus is," to my four-year-old son.
NEWKIRK: I doubt it very much.

CARLSON: I watched it. And I want you to apologize for that.

NEWKIRK: If anyone did that, I absolutely apologize.

CARLSON: Well, good.

NEWKIRK: Because everything we do is based at adults. We're asking adults be responsible. You were telling me about giving your children meat and milk. They're going to be to grow up to be tubs of lard. They're getting heart attacks.

Now check out Newkirks own web page, Nasty note contest.

No, Ingrid, you dont target children

It almost 8:00 am MST here in the Big town of Galeton Colorado and looking forward of a hard day of selling. Times seam to be tough in the marketing industry. I am represintng a small agricultural newspaper that covers the state of Colorado. The agricultural industry is still trying to heal up from the massive drought that we had last year. Many farming familys are under the gun. We have had a good spring, however, but it will take some time for the grass lands to heal up and hair over form the extended dry spell.

Good job GW bush. He has allocated more money to remove the wild horse of of federal lands. This is critical if we as care takers of the land are to improve the condition in which the wild horse lives. The gene pool of the wild horse has been depleated to nothing resulting in un adoptable animals destind to spend their days in feed yards.
This is another issue, the wild horse is protected under federal law, so the federal government, cannot send the horses to the packing plant , so, the un adoptables, rot, in feed yards at the tune of a $1.80 per head per day (told to me by a federal employee). I am trying to find the exact amount of horses the feds have on feed, so I can do the math.

The wild horse issue is deep rooted on bouth sides, emotional and economical. I am one for removing the horses off of BLM land and sending them directly to the packer. There is no glory in saving a life and condeming them to a life in a feed lot.

Thanks for creating this for me brother Doug!
